How do I use Ocu-Guard shields?

Place the protective shield over the eyes with the elastic band around the back of the head. The bottom edge of the shield should align with the lower orbital rim of the eyes. This will ensure that radiation exposure is minimized without obstructing the diagnostic image.
How do I introduce OCU-GUARD shields to my patients?

Explain to your patient; “These eye shields are a new development in X-ray safety. While our X-rays are already low dosage, we’ve added this protective measure to further reduce any potential X-ray exposure and ensure your well-being, which is our top priority.” 

How do I clean OCU-GUARD shields?

After each use, simply wipe the front and back of the shield with an antiseptic wipe and then set aside to air dry prior to use on the next patient. 

How many OCU-GUARD shields come in a box?
There are six shields per box.
How do I calculate the number of boxes I should order?

One box will last the average practice several years, based upon a practice that performs approximately 2,000 X-ray exams per year.
